HARRISON, Ohio —

At 22 years old, Dylan Haigwood is already working on jets at CVG Airport and making more than some of his friends with four-year degrees.

Haigwood recently graduated from Cincinnati State’s aviation maintenance program, where students spend two years earning FAA certifications and hands-on training to become licensed aircraft mechanics. Within weeks, he was hired full-time at Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services. Advertisement

“It’s very nice to come straight out of school with pay like that. I think it’s going to set me up really well,” said Haigwood.
