EWA BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have opened an attempted murder investigation following a shooting in Ewa Beach Tuesday night.

At around 8:05 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of Kapilina Beach Homes at 5100 Iroquois Avenue.

Loved ones have identified the victim on Wednesday as Francesca Kelso, 24.

According to police, a reported argument between Kelso and a 31-year-old male suspect escalated when the suspect brandished a long gun and fired multiple rounds at the victim.

Police said Kelso was able to flee into a secured area but sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the suspect was found inside his vehicle with an apparent fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials pronounced him deceased at the scene.
