Calhoun County is hosting two household hazardous waste collection events this fall.
The first event is scheduled for 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds, 720 Fair St. in Marshall. The second event will take place 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Bailey Park, 1350 Capital Ave. NE in Battle Creek, according to a community announcement.
The events are open to Calhoun County residents. Items accepted include oil-based paint, fuels, solvents, acids, pesticides, household cleaners, mercury, medications, sharps, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, propane cylinders, gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, aerosol cans, lamp ballasts, oxidizers, flammable solids and liquids, toxic inorganics and organics, lighters, chlorophenols, lead, self-de
