Westfield State students get their hands dirty at Grandmother’s Garden

WESTFIELD — Carmel Steger, president of the Friends of the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail and garden manager at Grandmothers’ Garden said Westfield State University students spent the Labor Day weekend getting their hands dirty in Westfield.

“These Westfield State University Honors students participated in two cherished gardens over the Labor Day weekend and really helped out with some late season maintenance and weeding. Their time also oriented them as incoming freshmen to see how much downtown Westfield has growing for it,” Steger said.
