WESTFIELD — After a discussion about people living in abandoned vehicles on 32 Birch Road in the Hampton Ponds area, raised by two of its members, the Planning Board voted as a body to request the Conservation Commission, Police Department, Health Department, Ward 6 Councilor William Onyski and Councilor Kristen Mello, chair of Natural Resources, to look into zoning compliance concerns on the property.

Raymond St. Hilaire said although the compliance of the property is not under the Planning Board’s purview, he had asked to put it on the agenda of the Sept. 2 meeting. “If we don’t put anything on the record ourselves, we’re the only ones that think this and nobody hears what we’re thinking,” he said.
