Low-cost air carrier Spirit Airlines plans to discontinue service to 11 mid-sized cities in the U.S.
The news comes as Spirit re-filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy August 29.
Service to Chattanooga and 10 other cities will be discontinued as of October 4.
April Cameron, President and CEO at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority said in a email statement "While we are all disappointed with this outcome, we very much appreciated Spirit’s commitment to our market and wish them a speedy financial recovery."
Spirit launched its first service to Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport in June of 2025.
CNBC says the other cities that the carrier will stop service are:
