LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The University of Kentucky and an assistant coach accused of misconduct have parted ways.
According to a statement from UK spokesperson Jay Blanton, Hakon DeVries' contract "was not renewed."
Blanton noted that DeVries' contract ended on Aug. 30 at UK.
The announcement came after DeVries was suspended with pay in June in connection with allegations of misconduct.
UK Athletics noted that DeVries has worked as an assistant coach with the track and cross-country teams since the 2012-2013 season, working primarily with distance runners.
Prior to working at UK, he served as a volunteer assistant at Stanford for three seasons, according to his bio page.
