OROVILLE, Calif. - The Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. North State Food Bank planned a Food Distribution event for Friday. The event will take place at Pines Yankee Hill Hardware in Oroville from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., or until supplies are depleted.

According to the Community Action Agency, the distribution is free of charge for attendees.

“We’ve organized a drive-through event using pre-boxed food to help protect those in need of food and our volunteers to the maximum extent,” said Tom Dearmore, chief operating officer of Community Action Agency.

The food boxes will contain shelf-stable and perishable items, with contents varying based on seasonal availability. Volunteers will place boxes weighing between 17 and 22 pounds directly into vehicles.
