CHICO, Calif. - Rural farmers in California are set to receive a boost in their efforts to combat drought and enhance sustainability through a $1.27 million investment.

Officials say this funding will support innovative irrigation and virtual fencing technologies.

The North State Planning and Development Collective at Chico State was awarded the funds under the California Jobs First Regional Investment Initiative. The initiative aims to improve water use, expand workforce training, and strengthen economic resilience in remote regions of the state.
