MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) -- More than a week after a hit-and-run crash occurred outside a Murfreesboro grocery store, authorities announced the victim had died.

The Murfreesboro Police Department initially described the incident as a "serious injury crash," saying it took place shortly before 6 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the parking lot of the Kroger along S. Church Street.

According to officials, a vehicle hit a 55-year-old pedestrian and left the scene.

Law enforcement said the driver -- identified as 44-year-old Heather Keller of Murfreesboro -- was taken into custody on Aug. 25 and charged with the following offenses: • Reckless aggravated assault • Felony reckless endangerment (vehicle) • Leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries • Failure to give immediate notice of the cr
