An Atlanta man is facing kidnapping and robbery charges after police say he bound employees with duct tape during a robbery with a fake weapon at a local restaurant on Wednesday.

It happened shortly after noon at Amada Restaurant in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street in Chattanooga.

Police say the suspect, 29-year-old Nicholas Johnson, walked into the restaurant wearing a mask and pointing a gun at the victims.

The police report says Johnson used duct tape to bound at least two employees and forced them into a walk-in cooler.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said Johnson held one of the employees at gunpoint, using the victim as a shield as he tried to escape.
