NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- Fire Chief Ed Schepp will be retiring in April, which is why the city is currently beginning the civil service commission process to find his successor.
North Olmsted Department of Public Safety Director Jennifer Scofield said the first step is advertising the position, which is open to internal and external candidates.
“We have a team identified that will screen all of the resumes or applications that we received,” she said.
“They’ll narrow it down to 10, who will go through an interview panel process and then the top five from that would advance to a leadership assessment with a firm called PRADCO. We contract them as part of our promotional testing process through the civil service commission.”
Interviews are expected to begin in October with a new fire chief
