NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - If you like pizza, you’re going to want to be in the Elm City next Friday night.

Downtown New Haven will once again host the New Haven Grand Prix, a series of cycling races, and the always popular Apizza Feast.

This year, New Haven is looking to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest pizza party.

The goal is to serve up two slices of pizza each to 5,000 people.

The Big Green Truck Pizza will have six ovens going, cranking out more than 600 pies in three hours in attempt to shatter the record.

“We are the pizza capital, so we should do nothing less than have something that’s so big, so vast. We’re going to show the world what New Haven is all about. This is a shared experience, and we still have a chance for all of you to be involved,” said Colin
