LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man was arrested and is facing assault charges after police say he threw a gaming controller and hit a five-week-old baby in the head.

According to the arrest report, 31-year-old Steven Harris got into an argument with the child’s mother on Aug. 31, which resulted in him throwing a gaming controller at her. She was holding the infant and the controller struck them in the head.

The baby was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital with skull fractures and a brain bleed.

On Sept. 3, LMPD was notified about the incident by Child Protective Services (CPS) and a detective spoke with the mother.
