A portion of the Dallas Cowboys fanbase has an interesting theory as to why Jerry Jones made the decision to trade star defensive end Micah Parsons to the Packers.

Some Cowboys fans, and even former star receiver Dez Bryant , believe the deal was made in an effort to land Texas quarterback Arch Manning after this season.

By trading away Parsons, the Cowboys landed a couple of first-round picks for the next two drafts. However, they also hurt their own team and are unlikely to be as good as they would have been in 2025 with Parsons.

As the theory goes, the Cowboys can tank this season without Parsons, secure the No. 1 pick for the 2026 NFL Draft and then select Arch Manning.
