FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots won’t have to worry about Amari Cooper this Sunday.

The five-time Pro Bowl wideout informed the Raiders that "he no longer has the desire to play and intends to retire‚" according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Cooper had signed with Las Vegas in August, but at 31, he’s ready to call it quits. The Raiders are set to visit New England for the season opener this Sunday.

Cooper was a Pro Bowler in Oakland (2015-16), Dallas (2018-19) and Cleveland (2023). He spent last season with the Browns and Bills, catching 44 passes for 547 yards between the two clubs. Cooper will finish his career with 711 receptions for 10,033 receiving yards and 64 touchdowns.
