CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The final suspect has been indicted in the February 2024 homicide of a 37-year-old Clarksburg man.

Harrison County grand jurors on Thursday indicted Taneil Chevalier Thompson, 18, of the Akron, Ohio, area, on charges of murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, according to Harrison Prosecutor Rachel Romano.

Because he was a juvenile at the time, Thompson would not face a sentence of life without mercy, no matter what verdict a jury returns.

Late last month, Dennis Allen High, 38, of Salem, was convicted at trial of felony murder and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and is awaiting sentencing.

Earlier, Jennifer Kirk pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping, a gun charge and a drug possession charge, and is also awaiting sentencing.
