SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — Hailey Weist has been the dog manager at Hillside SPCA in Schuylkill County for 11 years, but last week, she faced something she says she's never seen before: a heartbreaking case involving a sweet girl.
"It's just very sad. It was dark in there, she didn't know what was going on."
A family heard barking coming from one of the storage units at Storage Sense on Westwood Road. When an employee opened the storage unit, a dog came running out.
"It was packed with stuff, like she had barely any room to move around, you know, she was very crowded," described Weist.
Weist says Bubbles bolted out of the storage unit, afraid and hungry.
