DENVER (KDVR) — Thursday was one of the hotter days the metro has had in a while, but the Denver weather forecast will be much cooler on Friday. The weekend forecast is also looking pretty good as the Broncos, CU, and CSU all have home games.

Weather tonight: Dry and smoky

Although the state will mostly be asleep, smoky skies will persist. Overall sky conditions will be mostly cloudy.

There's a very slight chance of a light shower forming, but dry conditions are expected for most areas. Temperatures will fall into the lower 50s with a northeast breeze around 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 mph possible.

Weather tomorrow: Feeling like fall

A strong cold front overnight will cause temperatures on Friday to be more akin to early October than early September. Expect afternoon highs
