DENVER (KDVR) - Cloudy and smoky skies are here to finish off the workweek in the Denver weather forecast, with afternoon temperatures more than 10 degrees below average.

Weather Friday: Smoky skies

Smoke from out of state wildfires will impact the Front Range today with higher levels of fine particulates. Air Quality Alerts are in effect through the afternoon along Interstate 25.

After some morning sprinkles, the clouds will very slowly clear through the afternoon. Spotty showers linger in the high country for the afternoon as metro highs are below average in the lower 70s.

Weather tonight: Clearing skies

Any lingering clouds will clear quickly after the sun sets with a light wind. Overnight lows will be the coolest in about 3 months, as we dip into the upper 40s.
