SUMRALL, Miss. (WDAM) - A minor has been arrested in connection with a social media threat that was directed at Sumrall Middle School students last week.

The incident was investigated by the Lamar County School District Police Department in partnership with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department and Sumrall Police Department.

“We are immensely grateful for the seamless collaboration with our local law enforcement partners who worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend the individual responsible,” said Chief Hill, Lamar County Schools Chief of Police. “The safety of our students and staff is our absolute highest priority, and we take every threat seriously.”
