AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Weapons were found on separate campuses in the past few days — including a white powdery substance, according to school officials.

The Academy of Richmond County

During lunch on Thursday, administrators learned that a student may be in possession of a gun, according to a letter sent home to families.

An administrative search was conducted, where a weapon was found and confiscated.

Officials say the incident is being addressed by Richmond County School System police, following the Code of Student Conduct and Discipline.

Lucy C. Laney High School
