HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- After 16 months of courthouse renovations, Huntingdon County Commissioners, the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce and others celebrated with a ribbon cutting.
The renovations were needed after an engineer noticed problems with the structure, including the roof, saying that one bad and heavy snow could cause it to collapse. The multimillion-dollar project gave the courthouse a new look with existing architecture that nobody knew was there.
In total, the project cost a little over $4 million. While taxes were raised to help the project, Commissioner Scott Walls said it will be an investment that will pay off in the long run.
