OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - It has been a revolving door at the Department of Education under Superintendent Ryan Walters' leadership, with three communication directors coming and going in six months or so.
"Something is going on that the professionals at the top don't want to have to work with," said Tim Gilpin, who served on the Board of Education for six years.
Superintendent Walters didn't show up at the State School Board of Education meeting on Wednesday. News 4 wanted to know why, so a team went to the Oliver Hodge building, where Supt. Walters works and asked the front desk if he or his communications director, Quinton Hitchcock, was available.
"Oh, Quinton doesn't work here anymore," said security. "You're going to have to make an appointment if you want to talk to Walters."
