DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- Following the death of a beloved Wiregrass coach, family members are calling out ride-share corporations to make major changes, and hopefully prevent another family from losing a loved one.

Georgia native Jill Jackson wants a change to be made in the world of ride share services, after her husband and former Wiregrass coach, Sammy Jackson, was killed while working as a part-time Uber driver.

"He never would have met this man had it not been through that platform. So I am really pushing to protect anybody that's using a ride share platform," said Jackson.

Atlanta police arrested 30-year-old iquane brown and charged him with the murder of Sammy, among many other charges, after it was uncovered that Brown was the last person to request a rideshare from Sammy.
