ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The City of St. Louis has allocated an additional $12 million in Rams settlement interest toward helping tornado victims. That brings to a total of $30 in Rams settlement interest put toward debris removal and to assist tornado victims.

$5.35 million will go toward private property debris removal, according to St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer.

“We’ve been doing some of this work as you’re probably familiar with, but this is a way to really accelerate that work,”

She said $5 million will go toward paying for repairs to make hundreds of affordable vacant housing units available for tornado victims. The goal is to provide a place to live through the winter for tornado victims living in homes so badly damaged that it won’t be safe or warm through the winter.
