The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is celebrating 14 new graduated cadets this week from its 22-week training academy, one of only four police academies operated by a law enforcement agency in Tennessee.

13 graduates will now enter 16 weeks of field training with CPD officers, while one will join the Chattanooga Fire Department as a fire investigator. Training exceeded state standards and included instruction in cultural diversity, firearms, constitutional law, emergency vehicle operation, and scenario-based exercises.

“I am honored to welcome these graduates as the newest members of the Chattanooga Police Department,” said Chief John Chambers. “Their hard work over the past 22 weeks shows their commitment not only to the profession, but to the people of Chattanooga.”
