(KRON) -- San Ramon police said a pair of thieves caught in the act on surveillance video are suspected in a series of thefts at Safeway grocery stores that total nearly $10,000.

"Throughout the investigation, officers discovered the suspects were tied to five separate thefts in San Ramon alone, totaling nearly $9,500 in losses," said San Ramon PD in a social media post. "They were also linked to 43 additional thefts across Bay Area Safeway stores, resulting in an additional $14,500 in losses."
San Jose police said its Organized Retail Theft Suppression team made the arrests.
