Nearly 100 students, parents and community members rallied outside the Pasadena Unified School District offices Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, to protest what they said were teacher cuts at Altadena Arts Magnet and Eliot Arts Magnet.
Rally attendees held signs that read “Altadena kids have lost enough,” “PUSD don’t take our teachers,” and “Fire took my home PUSD took my teacher.”
Cars honked in support as attendees chanted “PUSD, you’re no good, treat our teachers like you should.”
Both Altadena Arts and Eliot Arts weathered damage from the Eaton fire, displacing faculty and students to nearby schools while holding separate instructions.
