KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Smokies are wrapping up their first season back in Knoxville. It was a season with challenges, but one they would deem an overall success.
“It’s been a learning curve and a process, so we’re getting to know our new neighbors and everything’s been going great,” Chris Allen, COO of Boyd Sports said.
Those challenges were discussed thoroughly, with the hope that it would not cause an issue.
“Initially a lot of the challenges we set out to address were mostly related to parking and finding your way in and around downtown in the old city,” City of Knoxville COO Grant Rosenberg said. “We again tried to over prepare for that, we tried to arrange for good parking locations and shuttle service to and from the stadium and tried to manage street closures effectively.”
