IOWA, La. (KPLC) - The Iowa library is bringing nature to life through hands-on experiences.
Teens were invited today to connect with local wildlife up close and hear stories about the nearby wildlife reserves.
According to Jama Pediatrics, teens spend an average over eight hours a day on screen-based media.
But the Iowa branch of the Calcasieu Parish Libraries is bringing back human connection through hands-on interactions.
“Wildlife is going away and its an awful lot of young people who don’t know about wildlife,” said SWLA Wildlife volunteer Jerry Doucet. “I think wildlife education is a good way to educate people who don’t get out anymore.”
