FERGUSON, Mo. (First Alert 4) - New video from a Ferguson apartment fire on Wednesday night shows the rush to put out the flames, officers running to doors to clear units and neighbors left to look on as people’s homes were destroyed.

The fire left multiple apartments charred, two people hospitalized as of Thursday, and multiple families displaced.

The investigation remains ongoing.

For people who live at Renewal Heights Apartments, formerly Canfield Green, what happened took them by surprise.

“We were sitting on the porch like we usually do, and we thought that we heard some gunshots and then when she looked down and we were like ducking cause we thought it was gunshots, we seen a big old poof of fire roll down and all of the sudden it was up in flames,” said Debra Fowler. “People wer
