TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The state has rested and the defense is preparing to begin their arguments in the trial for the man accused in a murder at a Tyler taqueria.

Scotty Lee Goble, 54, of Frost, is accused in the shooting death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez in front of Junior’s Taqueria, which Ramirez owned, in October of last year.

The jury started late Thursday at 1 p.m. The state’s last witness, a Tyler Police Department detective, flew in this morning from California, where he was testifying in another case.

The detective did a follow up with Goble shortly after the interview the lead detective presented yesterday.

He said there were serval inconsistencies in the interview, including where Goble placed his 8-month-old child at the time the shot was fired.
