AUSTIN, Texas — A Central Texas nonprofit dedicated to rescuing abused and disabled animals is facing financial hardship following devastating floods that swept through the region in July.
Safe in Austin, located in Leander, provides sanctuary to approximately 200 animals, many of which live with disabilities such as blindness, deafness, missing limbs or neurological conditions. The nonprofit, launched in 2017, rescues animals so those animals can help heal children.
