A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:43 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 7:45 p.m. for York and Lancaster counties.

"Strong thunderstorms are expected to move through York and Lancaster counties through 5 p.m. These storms will have the potential to make wind gusts near 55 MPH. A few of the storms could intensify, and make damaging wind gusts or large hail. Be certain to monitor local radio stations and available media sources for additional information and possible warnings from your National Weather Service," according to the weather service.
