ROBIE CREEK, Idaho — Nestled between Boise and Idaho City, Robie Creek was once a gateway to Idaho’s gold rush.
The land was used for housing settlements during Idaho’s mining era, when thousands of gold-seekers were migrating through.
“There was a stagecoach road that came over from Fort Boise and went to Idaho City,” said Kris Keller, owner of Flowing Springs Ranch. “Idaho City was the booming metropolis of a mining town where they claimed that that Gold Rush was every bit as large as the California and or Alaska.”
The gold rush migration happened well before the construction of Lucky Peak Dam in the 1950s. The reservoir changed the region’s landscape, shifting where Highway 21 runs.
