The Reporter/Times Herald/Montgomery Media boys soccer scene is in an interesting spot as the fall season begins.
Only one area team – Faith Christian – made it past the opening round of the state playoffs, a rarity in recent years.
Faith Christian, which moved up to Class 2A last year, will again enter the fall with high expectations and a goal of chasing an extended state run.
La Salle was again the class of the Philadelphia Catholic League, the Explorers going back to back in the PCL but were stunned in the District 12-4A final by Northeast. The Explorers graduated a lot of firepower, so there will be some new faces lining up in the first XI this year but the team should be solid on the back end and a tough nonleague slate will season them before the rugged PCL.
