Leicester City have announced professional contracts for 11 young talents with the club hoping more gems emerge from their academy.

City have had huge success with homegrown players of late, with Jeremy Monga and Louis Page’s promotion to the first team giving matchday squads a very local feel.

For the Carabao Cup against Huddersfield, nine members of the 20-man squad had come up through City’s academy. For the win over Charlton, it was eight players.

Now, the next batch of promising youngsters have been handed professional deals. Among the 11 to be rewarded are midfielder Will Lawrence and striker Lorenz Hutchinson, who both started alongside Monga and Page in the Under-16 Premier League Cup triumph last year.
