OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- There’s a lot of homegrown talent in Omaha. One of biggest stars to come from the Metro is comedian Amber Ruffin.

“I love being in Omaha because it is ever changing. I come home quite frequently. I feel like the last time I was home was three months ago, maybe less,” Ruffin said. “I come home quite frequently and every time I come home it’s a little different.”

First Alert 6’s Maria Cade had a chance to sit down with Ruffin to learn more about her time growing up in Omaha and her upcoming projects.

“In Omaha, we had, when I was very small, we were at the beginning of improv in Omaha,” Ruffin said. “We had tiny little improv troupes, and we would visit each other, talk and do shows together and it was adorable. That shaped me. That is literally what I chose to do as
