WESTBROOK, Conn. — A crash closed both sides of Interstate 95 and an overpass in Westbrook early Friday morning, and a second, separate crash closed another part of the highway, officials said. The first crash resulted in two deaths.
The first crash happened around 7:40 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway, near exit 64, according to state police. The crash involved a tractor-trailer. State police said the collision caused the truck to lose "loads of plywood." The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) said the crash involved multiple vehicles.
State police confirmed to FOX61 that at least two people have died in the first crash.
The DOT website also said a second crash closed I-95 Southbound between Exits 66 and 65 because of a tractor trailer crash involving box tr
