AVON, CT. (WFSB) - Tenants at Avon Place Apartments are continuing to demand change.

Several residents went before the town council to ask for its help to hold the landlord accountable when it comes to potholes, mold, and water leaks.

They say that the landlord, Empire Realty, has been neglecting the complex for years.

“I heard this kaboom in my bathroom turns out the ceiling fell through into my tub,” said Barbara Payne, a tenant.

They are asking for fines to be increased for code violations and the implementation of a fair rent commission in town, which would control and limit excessive rent increases and investigate tenant complaints.
