A Royal Oak man is guilty of shooting his ex-girlfriend and multiple other crimes after breaking into her Madison Heights home, a jury has determined.

Deliberations began and ended Wednesday in Oakland County Circuit Court for the case against Jonah Lowe, following his trial that began last week before Judge Jeffery Matis. Lowe was convicted of nine crimes:

• Assault with intent to do great bodily harm• Assault with a dangerous weapon• Unlawful imprisonment• Discharge of a firearm at or in a building causing injury• Five counts of felony firearm

The shooting happened last October after Lowe entered the woman’s residence and waited until she arrived with her toddler. He wouldn’t let her leave, but she eventually was able to obtain a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the neck in self defen
