BICKNELL, Ind. (WTHI) — Deputies responded to a late-night call on Thursday regarding a crash on North Golf Course Road involving an intoxicated driver.

Homeowners reported that a man claimed he was in a wreck and was drunk.

When deputies arrived, they found Lyndon Goodpastor, 25, near the crash scene. Goodpastor fled into a wooded area but was located and tracked by a department drone through cornfields until he surrendered to a K-9 officer.

Goodpastor was taken to Knox County Jail and booked on several charges, including resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, leaving the scene, and OWI. Damage to the fence was estimated at $1,500.

Goodpastor remains in jail on a $4,000 bond.
