1. Weekend Weather Pattern: Showers in Northern Michigan, Drier in South

A cold front has moved through Michigan bringing scattered showers, primarily to the northern regions. The southern half of Michigan will remain mostly dry today with only brief 10-15 minute showers possible. Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula will experience more shower activity throughout the weekend. Areas like Ann Arbor, Detroit, Lansing, Jackson, and Flint should stay mostly dry, while Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo might see occasional brief showers. The rainfall pattern shows a quarter to half inch expected in Traverse City northward through the weekend, with lake effect showers developing off Lake Michigan by Sunday.
