Search for missing rock climber stood down after body recovered on Cork coast

The search for a rock climber, missing in Baltimore, Co Cork, has been stood down following the discovery of a body.

Gardaí have confirmed that the operation for the man in his 20s was brought to an end following the discovery of his body earlier this morning.

Local divers recovered the body from the water, before it was taken to shore by the local Baltimore RNLI boat.

The body of the man, understood to be an Italian native, has also been removed from the scene, while a post-mortem will now take place.
