USWNT forward Alyssa Thompson is heading overseas.

The 20-year-old NWSL star is leaving Angel City FC to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea, according to The Athletic.

“The Women’s Super League (WSL) side will pay an initial fee of around £1million (between $1.3m and $1.45m), as well as potential add-ons, for Thompson," David Ornstein writes.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft out of high school, Thompson scored 15 goals in 62 appearances for Angel City. She debuted for the UNWNT at 17 years old and already has 22 matches on her resume.
