NY forest rangers rescue hikers tripping on psychedelic mushrooms

SHANDAKEN, N.Y. (WCAX) - New York authorities say four hikers had to be rescued from a mountain in upstate New York after taking psychedelic mushrooms.

Department of Environmental Conservation officials say the group was hiking in the Slide Mountain Wilderness last week when they called 911 after experiencing a “debilitating high.”

Forest rangers rescued the group, who had also lost their car keys.
