Act Out Theatre Group will present “The Legend of Sammy’s Swamp,” Sept. 12 through 14 at 802 South Main St. in Taylor. The comedic mystery is part of a benefit weekend sponsored by the theatre’s booster club.
“The show is a spoof on the Scooby-Doo mysteries,” said Kalen Churcher, the show’s director. “A mysterious swamp monster has been lurking around the not-so-sparkly Lake Shimmer Resort, and a group of teenagers must get to the bottom of the mystery.”
Audience members can expect a creepy innkeeper, flashbacks, strange noises from Room 1A, and of course, a spooky swamp monster.
“Well, maybe not too spooky,” Churcher said. “This is definitely a family-friendly show.”
