Midway ISD says student arrested after making ‘terroristic threat’ on social media

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Midway ISD says a student was arrested on Friday after making a ‘terroristic threat’ on social media.

Early Friday morning, the Midway ISD Police Department was informed of a social media post made by a student that referenced Midway High School.

“This was a case of a student making a reckless post on social media,” the district said.

Before students arrived on campus, authorities identified the student accused of making the post and detained the suspect at their residence.

The student was then taken into custody for making a ‘terroristic threat’ and was sent to the McLennan County Jail.

The district says that at no time was there evidence that this threat was credible and the investigation remains ongoing.
