When I joined the U.S. Army, I made a commitment to this country and took an oath to uphold values like loyalty, integrity, and personal courage. These are values that, for years, I strove to embody in all aspects of my service, especially in challenging moments.
It has been my dream to serve my country for as long as I can remember, and after witnessing the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, I knew I wanted to have a role in keeping my fellow citizens safe. I have deep admiration for the military’s promise that any American, regardless of their background, can rise through the ranks and achieve success based solely on their abilities and achievements.
